Everest Base Camp Trek: 14 Days

After your arrival on Kathmandu our representatives will be there waiting to give you a hearty welcome to Nepal along with your name card. You will be taken to hotel by our representatives. At the evening we will provide you warm welcome dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant.

The second day of your Everest Base Camp trek with Super Trekkers, you'll begin to feel the real essence of the Himalayas as you transition from the vibrant capital of Kathmandu to the quiet, serene village of Phakding via Lukla.

Morning Departure from Kathmandu (1,330m)
Your adventure starts early as you leave the bustling city of Kathmandu. You’ll be picked up from your accommodation for a scenic 4-5 hour drive to Ramechhap, where a quieter, smaller airport allows access to the Everest region.

Scenic Flight from Ramechhap to Lukla (2,860m)
From Ramechhap, you'll board a domestic flight to Lukla, an experience in itself. The 15-20 minute flight offers spectacular views of snow-capped Himalayan peaks. Lukla's Tenzing-Hillary Airport is renowned for its unique and dramatic landing strip amidst steep mountain slopes, adding a thrill to your journey.

Arrival in Lukla
Upon arriving in Lukla, you’ll take some time to prepare for your trek. Meet your guide and porters, organize your gear, and ensure you're ready to start your Himalayan adventure. Lukla, known as the gateway to Everest, is a bustling hub for trekkers from all over the world.

Trek to Phakding (2,652m)
Your trek officially begins as you set out from Lukla and make your way towards Phakding. The trail initially descends through lush greenery along the Dudh Koshi River. You’ll pass through traditional Sherpa villages, crossing suspension bridges and witnessing the beauty of the Khumbu region. The trek to Phakding takes around 3-4 hours, offering a gentle start as you gradually adjust to the altitude.

At the end of the day, you’ll arrive in the peaceful village of Phakding. Here, you’ll stay in a comfortable teahouse where you can relax, enjoy a warm meal, and rest up for the more challenging trekking days ahead. Your Everest adventure has officially begun!

After a good night's rest in Phakding, you will continue your trek to Namche Bazaar. This day involves a challenging uphill climb, but the stunning scenery and the promise of reaching the vibrant town of Namche make it all worthwhile.

The trail begins with a walk along the Dudh Koshi River, and you'll pass through several suspension bridges that offer picturesque views of the surrounding landscapes.

As you ascend, you will reach the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you'll need to show your permits. It's a great spot for photos and a brief rest.
The path then leads you through pine forests and along the banks of the river. Keep your eyes open for wildlife such as Himalayan Thars and various species of birds.

Upon reaching Jorsale, you will stop for lunch and continue your ascent. After crossing another suspension bridge, the challenging climb to Namche begins.
Namche Bazaar, often referred to as the "Gateway to Everest," is a bustling town with a variety of amenities, including shops, cafes, and stunning mountain views. You'll spend the night here, acclimatizing to the higher altitude.

This day is essential for acclimatization, as you'll be gaining significant elevation. Make sure to take it slow, drink plenty of water, and enjoy the breathtaking scenery along the way. Namche Bazaar is a fascinating place to explore with its vibrant market and stunning mountain backdrop.

You can explore the town, visit local markets, and take a short hike to Everest View Hotel, which offers stunning panoramic views.

The trail offers impressive views of the Himalayas.
You'll visit Tengboche Monastery, the largest gompa in the Khumbu region.

The path descends to the Dudh Kosi River before ascending to Dingboche.
Dingboche is surrounded by beautiful peaks, including Ama Dablam.

Another acclimatization day.
Consider a day hike to Nangkartshang Peak to enhance acclimatization.

The trail leads through the glacial moraines.
You'll pass memorials for climbers who lost their lives on Everest.

Reach Gorak Shep, the last settlement on the trail.
Hike to Everest Base Camp, where you'll witness climbers' preparations.
Return to Gorak Shep for the night.

Early morning ascent to Kala Patthar for sunrise views of Everest.
Descend to Pheriche for a more comfortable night's sleep at lower altitude.

Retrace your steps as you return to Namche Bazaar.

Continue your descent to Lukla, completing the circuit.

Take an early morning flight from Lukla to Ramechhap. Upon landing, drive back to Kathmandu, where you'll have the rest of the day to relax, explore, and reflect on your incredible journey.

Free time for shopping, sightseeing, or relaxation.

Your journey in the Himalayas comes to an end. You'll be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your flight home or onward adventure.
